Meet: Janet
Club Community Support
What do you do: Full time social butterfly
I joined the Varsity Lakes Rotary Club to: help anyone and any cause as giving makes me happy.
Biggest Frustrations: Having embraced “the grey” but having employers not be able to see past my hair colour.
Best Attributes: To give to others without needing anything in return
Greatest Strengths: Being organised, thinking outside the square and never being afraid to ask
Biggest Personal Challenges: Remembering that I am worthy
Biggest industry Challenges: Finding employment.
Proudest Moments: Too many to list. Often surprise myself with things I do and realise a lot of people look and say wow, that was amazing.
The times I feared for my life: Not being able to leave a toxic relationship
The best advice I’ve been given: Be grateful every day for everything.
The best advice I can give: Never ever give up putting one foot in front of the other.
If I won lotto: I would book in to see Peter Childe-Freeman for great advice on how to give away a chunk of my winnings between my son, friends and charities
I try to relax by: being social – movies, a meal out, loud and live music
If I could be someone else for just one day, I would be: Robbie Williams because he can sing, has been through the worst, got to be the best and has found happiness with his family.
When I was a child I wanted to: a librarian
Rules to live by: Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.
